Blind Arcade Definition

An arcade is a sequence of arches used in architectural design. The arches are made up of foundational load-bearing pillars. Generally, arcades are open face and function as either windows or completely open walls. A blind arcade, however, is closed. The sole purpose of the blind arcade is ornament, as the term denotes the façade of an arcade on top of the surface of a wall. Blind arcades are also known as wall arcades.
