Qi Definition

The literal meaning of the term Qi is "breath", "air", or "gas". Qi is a term which has importance in traditional Chinese culture, meaning as ‘natural energy’, ‘life force’, or ‘energy flow.’ Qi, also referred as ‘Chi’, is the vital force inherent in all living things and is the central underlying principle in traditional Chinese medicine and martial arts. Qi is understood as the motive force of life which drives all natural phenomena. Traditional arts in China have in majority, themes drawn from the natural environment.
