Pochoir Definition

Pochoir is a cut-out model sheet made of cardboard or sheet which may be made with designs that helps inn reproducing colour works on papers. It may have printed illustrations on how to make the colouring and it works like a stencil. Art or paintings done with the help of these sheets do not need any sort of creativity. It is just like copying or tracing an art in its original form. Therefore, these kinds of artworks and paintings are used while reproducing an original artwork. Pochoir was widely used in France during 1895-1935 for preparing portfolios, journals and decorative.
