Pewabic Pottery Definition

Pewabic pottery is a company established in Michigan by Mary Chase Perry Stratton in 1903 that produced art pottery, and pieces made of matte green glaze, iridescent and crystalline glaze. The word pewabic is derived from two words wabic which means metal and bewabic meaning steel or iron. The pottery was popular in producing Persian or Egyptian glaze coating in potteries.
