Peripteral Definition

Peripteral is a particular style of architecture in which the pillars are arranged in a single row on all the sides surrounding the building or a structure like a colonnade. This style can be seen in temples of ancient Greece and is considered to be a classical temple architecture. Most of the temples of ancient Greece and Grecian Doric temples had this kind of architectural structure. Such temples had portico on each side that are columned which is curtained with a solid transparent screen.
