Perimeter Definition

The word perimeter is derived from the Greek word peri which means around and metron which means meaning measure and was first used during 15th century. It is the total outer area that covers a two-dimensional closed figure. These are the measurements of the boundary of a figure or a shape. Perimeter helps in finding the total length of the sides of a geometrical figure. For circles, the term used instead of perimeter in circumference.
