Labyrinth Definition

Labyrinth is a symbol associated with metaphor and mythology. It is a single pathway leading in and out. Labyrinth appears in the art and architecture throughout the world. In Greek mythology, Labyrinth was designed to hold Minotaur, a wild beast. The design appears in pottery and in carvings in Churches. Labyrinth denoted ‘prayer walk’ in medieval churches. Labyrinths drawn by Native Americans are found in Arizona and Mexico. Labyrinth is sometimes used as synonym for ‘maze’ which is a multicrusal with riddles and dead ends.
