Animal Trophies Definition

The term 'animal trophies' is used to refer to things or trophies that are made from body parts of animals. It can be stuffed animals, carpets or mats made of animal skins, or other similar objects made from animals. It can be any durable part including horn, ivory, tooth, tusk, bone, claw, hoof, hide or skin of an animal and may be processed or not. Trophies are usually from exotic animals such as bison, deer, moose, alligators, tigers, elephants and bears. Collectors of animal trophies should be aware of the laws relating to endangered species in various countries that make the purchase and sale of some of these trophies illegal. One may need a permit to take it from a country or keep it with them.
