Ambivalence Definition

The term 'ambivalence' is used to denote a state of being uncertain or fluctuating. It simply denotes mixed feelings, or an inability to decide due to conflicting thoughts. In art, ambivalence can be a person's mixed feeling, for example, of love and hate towards someone, an idea, or a thing. Ambivalence is different from ambiguity, something susceptible to two different meanings.
