Albany slip is a term used to refer to Albany clay that is rich in iron and is used to make slips. Originally, Albany clay was mined from the deposits collected on the banks of Hudson river, Albany, New York. Albany Slip produces a dark brown glaze. It is used as a brown to dark coating on high-heated clay products .
