Sand Casting Definition

Sand casting is the technique of producing an object using metal and sand molds. In art, sand casting refers to making decorative pieces from wet sand. An impression is created in the damp sand and after gating and removing it, some metal is poured into the mold which remains in the sand. Bronze statues made from sand casting molds were produced in foundries of Paris. These became popular in France during the 19th century.
