Polyvinyl Chloride Definition

Polyvinyl chloride is a synthetic resin that is used in plastic products like pipes flooring and sheeting. It is made by polymerizing vinyl chloride which produces a brittle white solid material inside a flagon of vinyl chloride. This makes the substance chemically resistant and may be exposed to sunlight. The other properties of the material include its solubility in tetrahydrofuran and insolubility feature found when mixed with alcohol.
