Neoplasticism refers to a particular style of art movement that encouraged simplicity and abstraction. This style of painting was started by Piet Mondrian. This type of art used a rectangular form and used the primary colors with white and black. This style is also known as De Stijl.  De Stijl was a journal that was started by the painter Theo van Doesberg.
