Korean Ware Definition

Pots, bowls, vases, plates, jars, dolls, figurines, and other collectibles made by Korean artists using materials such as stone, ceramics, porcelain, and metals are known as Korean ware. Among them, the most famous is the Cheong-ja or the jade green pottery called celadon. They are well known and attracted by their beauty. The finest pieces of Celadon were made during the 11th century. The Koreans also made other Korean ware such as Bun-cheong or brown porcelain, brown colored pottery, and Baek-ja or white porcelain, white colored pottery. In additions, various other kinds of Korean ware were also seen.
