Cursive Definition

The term cursive is derived from the Italian word 'corsivo' and from Medieval Latin word 'cursivus' which means running. This term originated during 18th century.  It is a style of writing alphabets jointly with their angles rounded. It is also known as longhand, joined-up writing, joint writing and, running writing. It is a form of penmanship where the letters are written in a conjoined form in a flowing manner that makes writing faster. This form of writing is introduced to improve writing speed and to avoid pen lifts while writing. This writing style can again be classified as italic, connected or looped.
