Chenets Definition

In relation to antiques, ‘Chenets’ refers to the ornamental structure placed in front of a fire place for holding logs. It is comparable to a set of andirons, but is one piece. Typically chenet rests on metal bars inside the firebox. These metal bars run through the fireplace and wood can be placed in it.
