Charlie McCarthy is the famed ventriloquist dummy partner of Edgar Bergen. Charlie partnered Berger’s act right from 1930. His character was that of a naughty little boy. This dummy always had a hat, coat, and eyeglasses. The character was very famous in the films, radio, and television. Bergen and Charlie McCarthy’s dummy were outdated by the 1970s.
