Chamfer Definition

Chamfer means to cut off edge or corner. It is a 45-degree angled off or beveled edge on  materials such as wood and stone that is built into different designs. It is used for architectural designs and also for the design of precious jewels, Chamfered edges assists in  precise light refraction of precious gems and diamonds. This technique is also used in various products to give the impression of ornate detail.Chamfer is widely used in the design of circuit boards as well. It is a narrow surface with a flat finish and also known as a "bevel".
