Buddha Definition

Siddhartha Gautama, who later came to be known by the title Buddha was born in the 6th Century BC in Nepal. His father was a king and Buddha grew up in the luxurious ways of a young prince. He later became an ascetic and Buddhism is founded on his teachings. Buddha, the guide; Dharma, the path and Sangha, the teachers and companions form the Three Jewels of Buddhism.
