Bone Dry Definition

The term Bone Fry is a term used in pottery which is used to describe State of dryness of greenware which is ready to be bisque fired.  The greenware pottery would have completely air dried or room dried as much as possible before being bisque fired. Bone dry greenware feels to be at room temperature when held. If it is cool to the touch it indicates that the greenware is not yet bone dry. Bone dry greenware is extremely fragile and will break apart very easily. Therefore, it should be handled with great care.
