Analogy Definition

Analogy is a term used to compare the similarity between things or elements of two or more things. Analogy recognizes things as basically dissimilar; the comparison is based on the similarity observed. Generally, creators of analogies infer that if things are so alike, they may probably be similar in other manners. In art, analogies are used to explain intricate and complex ideas. Any two things that are similar to each other in one or more ways permitting an inference of analogy may be known as analogous. Analogy is a fundamental element of symbolism.
