Votive refers to an object which consists of/symbolizes/expresses a wish, vow, or prayer. It can also be something that is offered for the fulfillment of a vow. We can also see votive pictures and sculptures that are used to inspire devotion or used in religious worship. Candles, prayer card, and offerings are various examples of votive objects.
