Vernissage refers to the final touches given to a painting by varnishing it in private, prior to the formal commencement of the art exhibition. Usually, the vernissage can be viewed only by invited guests. It is more commonly known as private view. The invited guests would be persons who will probably buy or pen flattering reviews that will persuade others to purchase such paintings.
