Vector Graphic Definition

Vector graphics means the creation of digital images using a series of geometric/mathematical functions. Using this method, the images are represented as lines and not as fixed bitmaps. The file size of a vector graphic image is less when compared to that of bitmap images. A vector graphic image can be zoomed in or out without losing its resolution. A sequence or series of mathematical curves is used in vector art. Therefore, it is ideal for printing; the image quality does not distort even when resized.
