Stiegel Type Definition

Stiegel Type in the context of antiques refer to the glass works produced in the early period of American glass work history. Stiegel glass manufacture began in 1763 by German William Henry Stiegel in Pennsylvania. Due to the difficulty in confirming whether the piece is originally made by Stiegel, the collectors refer to the early pieces as Stiegel type. Stiegel type include bottles, creamer and flask.
