Shriner Definition

Shriner usually refers to a member of the Ancient Arabic order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. It is a charitable society that was founded in the 19th century. In relation to antiques, any article used by the members of this society supporting several of their parade units may also be referred to as shriners. For example, shriner jewellery, shriner mugs, shriner wooden WELCOME signs, shriner ashtray, and shriner plates.
