SEG Definition

SEG is the abbreviated form of Saturday Evening Girls. Saturday Evening Girls when used in the context of Antiques refers to the ceramics produced by a group of immigrant women in Boston operating out of the Public Library in North End, Boston. The SEG was established by Edith Guerrier to provide after-hour activities to young girls of immigrant families. The club began making pottery under the name Paul Revere Pottery. The factory was closed down in 1942.
