Potboiler Definition

A potboiler in art refers to a cheap or a low-quality creative work which helps the creator of such art to meet his daily expenses. Such artworks are symbolised as potboilers because, it helps the artist get profit from his artwork and keep his pot boiling on the stove. Such artworks may be usually novels, film or screenplays. Artists who create such potboilers are also called hacks. Pot-boiler movies are called popcorn movies and novels are called pulp fiction.
