Pictograph Definition

Pictograph is a drawing or a graphical representation of data that is depicted with symbols and icons or even writings. These were commonly used before 3000 BC in Egypt and Mesopotamia, for easy reading and interpretation. The inscriptions in pictograph are seen usually with a drawing or an image, numerical, graphs or a figure or a word, or idea. The system of writing evolved from such pictographs. These pictographs have helped in understanding the culture and events of earlier civilizations and are still used by certain civilizations in Japan China and America Indians.
