With transformation in usage of writing instruments, feathers which were used earlier to write down the things were replaced by pens in 1780 and even before that pencils were introduced in 1565 and the invention of graphite. Both these brought tremendous change in writing methods and ink pen and dip pens gained popularity and as its modern version, fountain and ball point pen came to market. All types of old pens are collected together as a set and also old pencils covered with different coloured wooden pieces are also collected. Combined set consisting of both pen as well as pencils are also available for collection.
