Paraph Definition

Paraph is a term related to signature. It is a finishing flourish that is generally made below or towards the end of a person's signature. Paraphs were seen used in signatures right from the ancient times. They appeared in the form of long and flourishing extravagant lines that were usually found at the end of a signature. Paraphs give a stylish look to signatures. However, paraphs were originally used to discourage forgery. The term is also seen used in relation to notarial paraphs.
