Orotone Definition

Orotoneis a type of photographic print made from negative to create a gold toned image.  Orotone prints were an art produced during twentieth century. This photograph is created by taking prints of images on glass and then coated with banana oil soaked in gold coloured pigment. Orotone images are fragile and brittle as it is printed on glass and therefore need to be framed with gilded frames to prevent breakage.
