The word Octavo is taken from Latin which means in eighth or for the eighth time. It is a technical term that describes the format of a book, manuscript or pamphlet which has the measurement of 20-25cm height and 13-15 cm width making it the third largest standard size. It has its sheets folded into eight leaves. Thus each sheet becomes one eighth of the original size of the sheet.
