Nylon Definition

Nylon is the first commercially viable synthetic polymer, developed by DuPont in 1935. "Nylons" became famous around 1940 as durable and affordable alternative to silk stockings for ladies. In the antique market, the term is also seen used in relation to antique American Nylon flags, nylon type amulet necklace, nylon fabric bags, nylon backpacks etc.
