Narrative Art Definition

The term Narrative Art refers to a form of art which recites a story. The art work recites the story either as a moment in an ongoing story or as a sequence of events that occurred over a period of time. Genre and history paintings were the main types of narrative art where the former narrated the events of each day while the latter depicted only renowned events. Additionally, Narrative art can be categorized into several types, which follows different modes or styles. Types of Narrative art include Simultaneous narrative, Monoscenic narrative, Continuous narrative, Synoptic narrative, Panoptic narrative, Progressive narrative, and Sequential narrative.
