Inlay Definition

Inlay is a decorating technique used in sculpture, furniture, or other objects where an image is formed by setting thin pieces of a material precisely into the gaps created in the material. Wood, metal, stone, shell, glass, ivory and tile are examples of materials that are inlaid. Antique inlay wooden tables, drawers, cabinets, jewel box, and other wooden furniture are available for sale in antique market.
