Gutta Percha Definition

Gutta-percha refers to articles made from the rigid natural latex from the sap of Gutta-percha trees. In the 19th century, it was sort of first plastic materials and was molded to create toilet articles, picture frames, daguerreotype cases etc. It was also used as insulation cable for underground and underwater cables. In 1850, the Gutta Percha Company used gutta-percha as cable insulation in its tubes.
