Gouache Definition

In reference to antiques, Gouache means painting that are made using Gouache paints. Gouache is type of paint that is designed to be used in an opaque method. It consists of pigment, a binding agent are added sometimes along with inert material. Gouache, though similar to watercolor, is modified to make it opaque using the inert material, usually white pigment is chalk. The binding agent is generally gum arabic.
