Discipline Based Art Education Definition

Discipline-Based Art Education (DBAE) is complete, multifaceted, holistic approach to art education. DBAE is incorporated with sculpture, painting, architecture, drawing, applied arts, fine arts, folk arts and other artistic creations. It is promoted by the Getty Education Institute for fine Arts. DABE is an approach to instruction more than a specific curriculum. But DBAE is cumulative, sequential, and articulated implementation. The four distinct art disciplines: art history, art criticism, art production, and aesthetics form the assimilate content of DBAE. Additionally, the contents are derived from the professional art world’s valid information and practices.
