Color Field Painting Definition

Color Field Painting refers to paintings where the entire canvas is covered with dense areas of color . But most of the color field paintings are so large that it is so close that the viewer gets immersed in a color filled environment. Above all, color field painting is a particular type of abstract expressionism. Works of Marks Rothko, Kenneth Noland and Jules Olitski are examples of this type painting.
