Cinematic Montage Definition

The French term montage literally means to ‘edit’ or ‘put together.’ It is a technique used in editing and assembling separate sections of film. Cinematic montage help in compressing a long period into short one. The technique was made popular by Russian film makers, Sergie Eisenstein, Lev Kulshov, Dziga Vertov and Vsevolod Pudovkin.
