Christmas Trees Definition

The first artificial Christmas tree was developed by Germany in 19th century. Several states such as Massachusetts (1832), Pennsylvania (1747), Illinois (1833), Iowa (1845), and Ohio (1838) claims to have made the first decorated Christmas tree in the United States. In 1860 imported glass ornaments from Germany were used in Christmas trees. About 100 years ago Dresden ornaments were produced with tinsel and paper. In 1882, electric lights were used in Christmas tree for the first time. Light bulbs of characters became common in 1920. 1940 introduced bubble lights followed by twinkling bulbs in 1950. Plastic bulbs were introduced in 1955. Various type of Christmas trees produced with feathers, ornaments, decorations etc. are very popular among collectors.
