Chicano Art Definition

In general, Chicano Art refers to Mexican-American culture. Chicano Art is a part of Latina and Latino art. Famous muralists of the Mexican Renaissance and the pre-Columbian art have greatly influenced this art form. While some American southwest regions suggest the term as an ethnic pride, there are other regions that may consider the use of it as derogatory. Other terms for Chicano Art may include Hispanic art, Hispanic-American art, and Latin American art.
