Caravaggisti is the name used to refer to artists who were influenced by the artistic effects and works of Caravaggio and became his followers. Carravagio was an Italian Baroque painter who lived during the 16th century. Carravagio’s revolutionary approach to painting and his novel ideas influenced a number of people in Rome and they began to follow his style. A number of followers were seen particularly during the first decade of the seventeenth century.
