Afterimage is a popular optical illusion. The illusion creates the sensation in which a person’s eye continues to depict an image that has actually gone away. The sensation is a result of the eye becoming fatigued after being exposed to an image for a long period of time. An afterimage generally appears as the color inverse or compliment of the actual image.
