Introduced in the late 1890s, the Coca-Cola serving tray is a vibrant reminder that advertising is one of America’s favorite art forms. Lithographers developed a special technique for printing lush, full-color images on these wonderful trays, originally used by soda fountains to serve “most refreshing drink in the world,”(slogan found on a 5-cent Coca-Cola advertising mirror, estimated at $100-200 in the February 11 sale.)The beauty and longevity of the Coca-Cola tray has made it a collector’s favorite for generations, and Michaan’s is proud to offer one of the first trays produced by the Coca-Cola Company.
