A world-class museum located in the heart of Alaska's largest city, the Anchorage Museum at Rasmussen Center began as a public-private partnership to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the purchase of Alaska from Russia.

The museum pursues its mission to study and exhibit natural history materials relating to Alaska's natural history and to promote educational programs which benefit Alaska visitors and residents alike.

The past meets the present at the Alutiiq Museum, Kodiak's Alaska Native culture center where visitors explore 7,500 years of Alutiiq heritage.

The Aurora Colony Historical Society promotes interactive lifelong learning by inspiring curiosity about the heritage of the Aurora Colony.

The purpose of the Kodiak Historical Society is to collect, preserve, research, and exhibit historically significant artifacts, documents, photographs, and other data relative to the Kodiak and Aleutian Islands area.

The purpose of the Cordova Historical Society is to collect, preserve, interpret, exhibit, and research objects and works of art which represent the history and cultural background of Cordova and the surrounding area.
