China, 1368-99, 1 Kuan, P-AA10, Issued banknote. 10 Strings of Cash Coins at top center on front and back center at bottom. Large red seal and black seal on back, the one on face is faded, Printed on dark gray mulberry paper. The note is in acceptable condition and would have graded VG to Fine condition, but the bottom 1/4th of the note is missing and evidently cut off at sometime in the past . There is evidence of only one light horizontal fold in the middle and a few areas where the paper is very thin and rounded corners on the top left and right, but still very attractive and collectible for the issue. There is also a adhesive piece of tape with Chinese characters on the back that is 1 1/4 by 1/3rd of an inch, This note came from a group of these notes that were discovered during the "Boxer Rebellion". The notes were printed by the "Hung-wu Emperor" to create a national currency. The legends on the notes cites the authority of Hung-wu, the punishment for counterfeiting and reward for informants. The term Kuan (Quan, Kwan) relates to the Quan system of money (silver bars). A collectible example of this rare banknote and the earliest example of paper money available.

Printed on off white banknote type of paper with approximately 1 inch large margins around note. The right margin has 4 different color bars in orange, rust, red and brown (the color of the note). The back is blank. There is one vertical fold down the middle, a very light diagonal fold on the bottom that barely touches the LL border, a light fold on the UL corner far fram the border printing and a light ink spot on the right margin away from the design, otherwise the note looks AU. No serial numbers or other markings and no POC's. Rare note in any form and unlisted as proof or specimen. Attractive dragons supporting shield vignette in middle and ornate border and underprint. BFL printer.

This was a Restricted document that was used for internal purposes as well as for high level politicians. It includes 7 original fliers or propaganda leaflets stapled on the top left corner to the interior of the 4 page leaflet. It describes each flier by a number printed on each one. They are written in Burmese, Thai and the surrender leaflet in Japanese for the Japanese soldiers. Included are leaflets with hand drawn illustrations of U.S. bombers; Roosevelt; Downed American and allied fliers; American flag and portrait of Truman. All are in XF condition almost as printed. Rare and historic U.S. World War II Psychological warfare items.
